Synopsis

In Ketchikan, Alaska, a ceremony marks the return of a totem pole to its original owners, the Tlingit community. The pole was removed from the deserted village of Gash by the Harriman Expedition over a century ago. In the summer of 2001, under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, the Peabody Museum at Harvard University returned the totem pole to its rightful place.
