Five Cantadoras from Colombia's Caribbean and Pacific regions share their stories through traditional music and dirges. They reflect on the violence inflicted by paramilitaries and the impact on their communities. As they engage in daily chores, their songs express dignity and creativity. The documentary, directed by María Fernanda Carrillo, runs for 70 minutes and offers a look at rural life and the artistic expression of Afro-Colombian culture. It was produced in Colombia and Mexico in 2013.
