Synopsis
Lydia Alekseeva captained the USSR women’s basketball team from 1964 to 1984. Under her leadership, the team won multiple world and Olympic titles without a single loss in international matches. Evgeny Alekseev was the first coach and founder of the CSKA basketball team and served as captain of the men’s national team. Both were participants in the Great Patriotic War and received military honors. They spent over 60 years in marriage and raised two daughters.
