Cornelis Bastiaan Vaandrager, a founder of the magazine De Nieuwe Stijl, lived a life filled with extremes. In the 1960s, he emerged as a prominent figure in Dutch literature alongside Armando, Hans Sleutelaar, and Hans Verhagen. Vaandrager pursued diverse roles as a poet, actor, and writer. His refusal to settle into conventional life led him into struggles with addiction. By the end of his life, he found himself destitute, embodying the ideals he once championed.
