Synopsis

Mass-produced bread-like products begin as gooey blobs of raw dough, which are shaped into discs that become Kaiser rolls. After being dusted with flour and brushed with oil, they are baked and cooled to 100° before being packed for shipment to local restaurants and grocery stores. Once sorted and priced, the bread is accessible to shoppers of all shapes and sizes. The narrative shifts to family dynamics, highlighting moments of connection and disconnection, particularly between a parent and their child, Diane. As children grow and life changes, parents reflect on their past selves and the passage of time, questioning how to reconnect with each other amidst the chaos of family life. Memories are portrayed as unreliable yet valuable, akin to a collection of coins from a bygone era, representing a life well spent.
