Elephant Orphans

Synopsis

In Botswana's Okavango Delta, the Abu family, consisting of orphaned elephants and their human caretakers, navigates the challenges of rehabilitation and reintroduction to the wild. Led by Randall Jay Moore, who aims to return these elephants to their natural habitat, the family faces a critical moment when Shireeni, a young cow, gives birth to a premature calf named Wanto. Despite efforts from a specialist veterinarian, Wanto does not survive. However, the family finds solace in adopting a wild calf, Kitimetse, and later celebrates the birth of a healthy bull named Pula.
