Echagh (The Well)

Synopsis

In Echgah, a locality 40 kilometers northeast of Gao, Mali, the Tuareg fraction known as Igorareine faces significant changes. Traditionally nomadic, they have tended sheep, goats, camels, and cattle for generations. However, desertification has led to a decline in livestock, prompting some families to settle around a colonial well established in 1988. A primary school was created a decade later, sparking differing opinions on its impact. The film follows the life choices of three children amid these shifting dynamics.
