On November 1, 1954, near Ghassira in the Aurès Mountains, a French teacher, his wife, and a local governor became the first civilian casualties of the Algerian War of Independence. Filmmaker Malek Bensmail revisits this village, known as 'the cradle of the Algerian Revolution,' more than 50 years later. The documentary examines the lives of its residents, particularly focusing on the school and children, while exploring the enduring impact of the war on the community and reflecting on the legacy of Algeria's struggle for independence.
