Synopsis

John Jeffery stands on the property of his childhood home, a burned-out shell in East Vancouver. A year after the fire, he remains the last of the old families on the street. Dennis and Barb McDonald, empty nesters from the suburbs, have just acquired the house from its previous owner. As they prepare to renovate, they encounter neighbors focused on retrofitting character homes, often overlooking the community's history and the people who have lived there for generations.
