Deus Ex Forgot the Text

Synopsis

Chernivtsi, a city in Ukraine, becomes a refuge in March 2022 as people flee the war. Among them are theatrical figures who confront a reality where art seems irrelevant. Despite the chaos, they begin to recreate theatre, performing on streets and in refugee centers. They rehearse plays about the war in bomb shelters, often interrupted by air raid sirens. This documentary captures their efforts to maintain a semblance of normalcy through performance in a time of crisis.
