Synopsis

The black caiman, one of the largest living reptiles, can reach lengths of up to seven meters and weigh over one ton. Biologist Rainer Bergomaz and his Amerindian colleague Yung Sandy venture deep into Guyana's Hinterland to study this elusive predator. Their research reveals the caiman's complex social structures, maternal instincts, and communication methods. Unlike many reptiles, female caimans fiercely protect their nests and young. In a bold experiment, Bergomaz attempts to dive alongside these formidable creatures to gain further insights into their behavior.
