Synopsis

Lowell, Massachusetts, in the late 18th century is marked by its bustling textile mills. Young women, known as the "Lowell Girls," work long hours in harsh conditions. Many of these girls come from poor backgrounds and have little education. The mills transform raw materials into finished goods, but at a high human cost. The documentary presents the lives of these workers and the realities of industrial labor during this period.
