Synopsis
David Redman visits the French National Library to study Jikji, the world’s oldest movable metal type book, printed in Korea in 1377. He finds scant information about its history. Along with Sarang Ness and the Jikji team, Redman travels through Europe and Korea. They investigate the development of print technology from the Goryeo dynasty to Europe. Their work addresses the contributions of non-European cultures to printing and the spread of knowledge.
