Synopsis

At the old Zoological Museum in Copenhagen, the entrails of the last two Great Auks are preserved in glass jars. The Great Auk, once a prominent seabird, vanished in the mid-19th century. The narrative weaves together stories and observations that connect this extinction to the current biodiversity crisis. An artist travels to various locations linked to the Great Auk, including the home of its author in England and Hornøya, Norway, where endangered seabirds are captured on Super-8 film, evoking a sense of loss.
