Synopsis

In the north-eastern region of Papua New Guinea, Indigenous tribes confront the encroachment of multinational corporations on their ancestral lands. For decades, the global tuna industry has expanded, increasing annual catches from 400,000 tons in the 1950s to nearly 4 million today. As these communities fight to protect their traditions and way of life, they grapple with corruption within their government. The film questions whether this development will bring prosperity or poverty to the Pacific.
