Synopsis

Abby Hussey serves as the lead structure engineer for the ExoMars Rover, which is set to land on Mars in 2020. Inspired by Colin Pillinger's work on the Beagle 2 mission, a British engineering endeavor, Abby reflects on the significance of her role in designing a rover that will leave tracks on Mars. The rover is equipped with autonomous navigation capabilities, tested in a facility known as the Mars yard, which simulates the Martian environment with rocks and sand.
