Breaking Leaves

Synopsis

In the Haitian countryside, men and women gather leaves and herbs for healing. With limited access to medical facilities, they rely on local plants and therapeutic massage to treat common ailments. The film follows these individuals into the bush, where they search for necessary ingredients. Back at home, they demonstrate how to prepare poultices and infusions. Narration comes from the people themselves, accompanied by songs celebrating the role of leaves in their culture.
