Synopsis

Ten-year-old Nastya faces a new reality after a missile strikes her home in Ukraine on New Year's Eve, killing her father. With their school just 500 meters from the front line, Nastya and her family scavenge for scrap metal to survive. Seven-year-old Senya, who has known only conflict, finds brief comfort climbing the boney piles, watching sunsets amid the chaos. His stepfather digs graves to support the family, hoping to buy Senya a new suit and backpack.
