Synopsis

Jan Bosdriesz visits Russia to investigate the life of Pyotr Leschenko, a singer whose music faced bans during the Soviet era. He inherited LPs from the 1930s that feature Leschenko's work. Through conversations with people who knew the artist, Bosdriesz connects his family's history to the cultural climate of the time. The film addresses themes of memory and identity within a repressive political environment. It runs for 97 minutes and was released in 2008.
