Synopsis

A hand-cranked 8mm projector brings to life a found West German super 8 film from the 1970s. The film captures mundane moments that reflect a mechanical era now largely replaced by digital technology. As the images flicker, they evoke a sense of distance, despite being only 40 years old. This juxtaposition of contemporary and obsolete technology prompts reflection on significant changes in human culture and technology over the decades. The six-minute piece invites contemplation of a bygone time.
