Synopsis

Orhan Gencebay, a pioneer of Turkish arabesque, reflects on the genre's origins in the slums during the industrialization era following the establishment of the republic. The film details how arabesque evolved into a music genre for the masses after the cultural upheaval of the 1980 coup. Musicians such as Ali Tekinture and Burhan Bayar share insights on this cultural phenomenon, while Ezel Akay and others interpret its development. The soundtrack features music from diverse venues, including beer houses and upscale restaurants.
