Synopsis

Júlio Bressane's Rua Aperana 52 captures a corner of Rio de Janeiro through photographs taken between 1909 and 1955, many by the filmmaker's parents. The film juxtaposes these historical images with scenes from films made between 1957 and 2005. This visual dialogue spans nearly a century, using the titular street, which translates to 'wrong road', as a motif to reflect the changing environment and personal narratives associated with this significant location in Brazilian culture.
