Synopsis
Maria Correia, the Black Princess of Príncipe Island in the 1700s, meets the Baron of Água Izé, a nobleman of mixed ancestry from the Portuguese colonies in the 1800s. Their encounter, reanimated by contemporary artists, unfolds through dance, poetry, and music. The film connects past and present, addressing themes of power, culpability, and the exploitation of land and Black bodies. Set against a backdrop of historical significance, it invites reflection on the legacies of colonialism.
