Synopsis

In British Columbia, Chinese and East Indian immigrant workers faced challenging conditions on farms in the late 1970s. Their struggles led to the formation of the Canadian Farmworkers Union on April 6, 1980. Over two years, the film captures the workers' movement, detailing their initial militancy and the subsequent efforts to organize union membership. It also documents the reactions of growers and labor contractors to the emerging threat of unionization, illustrating the tensions between labor and management.
