Synopsis
The Gamo Highlands in Ethiopia feature a community that has farmed sustainably for 10,000 years. This rural area, part of the African Rift Valley, remains biologically and culturally intact despite its dense population. A Thousand Suns contrasts the Gamo people's interconnected worldview with modern attitudes toward nature. The film includes scenes shot in Ethiopia, New York, and Kenya, illustrating the challenges of achieving long-term sustainability in a rapidly changing world.
