Synopsis
Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) are individuals in positions of public service who face a heightened risk of involvement in corruption and bribery. A Huis Clos examines how some PEPs utilize British offshore jurisdictions to launder illicitly obtained wealth, subsequently reinvesting it in the global economy. The documentary highlights the challenges faced by developing countries seeking restitution from the United Kingdom for funds they allege have been misappropriated.
