Synopsis

Betty Svendsen dedicates her life to the care of over 400 donkeys at a sanctuary in Sidmouth, South Devon. As a registered charity, the sanctuary has expanded to include two farms to accommodate the animals. Many donkeys arrive due to their owners' inability to care for them, while others have suffered severe cruelty and neglect. Svendsen's commitment highlights the plight of these animals, often misused and abandoned, and her efforts to provide them with a safe haven.
