Watch Report: GOP lacks votes to block impeachment witnesses | iwonder.com
Watch documentary | After President Donald Trump's lawyers ended their third and final day of arguments early on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell reportedly said in a private meeting with his fellow Republicans that he did not currently have enough votes to block witnesses in the Senate's impeachment trial following the bombshell claims by former national security advisor John Bolton that the president told him he wanted to halt security aid to Ukraine. After Trump's lawyers wrapped up their arguments, the head of the House Democratic team of managers prosecuting the case against Trump said the president's own legal team only bolstered the case for calling Bolton to testify. At least four Republicans would have to side with all Democrats in a vote to allow witnesses. The Senate may resolve the issue of whether to call witnesses in a vote on Friday or Saturday.
