Grieving mom Hallie Twomey put a call-out on Facebook after losing her elder son, CJ, to suicide. Her request: to honour his memory by scattering his ashes in as many amazing places as possible. The request went viral; a global community formed to scatter CJ’s ashes in thousands of locations worldwide, helping Hallie find the courage to become a powerful voice in the fight against suicide.

Former White House Chief Strategist, CEO of the 2016 Trump campaign and executive chairman of the far-right news site Breitbart News, Steve Bannon sits down with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Errol Morris for an extensive interview. Through his role as advisor to Donald Trump, many describe Bannon as “the architect of Trumpism.”

Morris takes a number of Bannon’s favorite films (including Henry King’s Twelve O'Clock High, John Ford’s The Searchers and Orson Welles’ Chimes at Midnight) as a means of delving into Bannon’s world view and feelings about Trump. Born into a “hardcore Democratic family”, we learn of the ideas that shaped Bannon into a leading figure of the alt-right, and his role in Trump’s election.

Morris is critical, but avoids direct attacks in his interview, and the result is openness on Bannon’s part: this is Bannon according to Bannon. The filmmaker describes the film as a “horror film”, with a fascinating villain in the leading role, too dangerous to ignore.

BASQUIAT: Rage To Riches explores the life and work of one of the great artistic legends of the 20th century. The film features exclusive interviews with the sisters of Jean-Michel Basquiat – Lisane and Jeanine Basquiat - who have never before agreed to be interviewed for a TV documentary about their brothers life and work. With striking candour, Basquiat’s legendary art dealers – including Larry Gagosian, Mary Boone, and Bruno Bischofberger - along with his most intimate friends, lovers, and fellow artists expose the cash, the drugs, and racism which Basquiat confronted on a daily basis. Basquiat blew up the New York art world with work that translated street energy into high art. Raw, provocative, beautiful, child-like, spontaneous and full of references, Basquiat’s paintings and drawings – a combination of scrawled shapes and crossed out words – seemed chaotic but were intensely purposeful, a means of processing his experience of being a Black man in a white world at a very particular point in history. 
From the perspective of 30 years since his untimely death, this film also focuses on the legacy of one of the great artists of the 20th century.

Basquiat: Rage to Riches

Over a 100 years ago, humanity witnessed the greatest war that had ever occurred - World War I. Nearly 2 million men from across Asia were recruited to fight in the war. They were Indian soldiers from remote communities, Chinese farmers from rural outposts who worked as labourers, Vietnamese fishermen participating on behalf of their French colonial masters, and Japanese sailors in service of their emperor. But today, few remember them or their sacrifices. As the world prepares to commemorate the centenary of the end of The First World War, we will examine not just Asia’s contribution to the Great War, but also how the war changed Asia.
