Synopsis
William Alderson, known as "Yorky Billy," reflects on his life in Ngurgdu (Spring Peak), Northern Territory. At 80 years old, he recalls his childhood after losing his mother at three and working alongside his father, an Englishman who spent 45 years in Australia. After World War II, Yorky married and raised a large family while taking on various jobs. He recorded his story in 1977 and died shortly after, buried near his father. The film captures his slow speech and dry humor in a simple, unedited style.
