Synopsis

Two eleven-year-old girls in an autonomous zone between Mexico and Guatemala seek to change their lives through music. In a region where the border once did not exist, they navigate the challenges of their environment. The film follows their aspirations and struggles as they use music as a means of expression and hope. Set against a backdrop of shifting borders, "YIB" captures their determination to forge a new path. The documentary runs for 65 minutes and was released in 2019.
