Synopsis
In a divided Berlin, two angels, Damiel and Cassiel, observe the lives of its residents. They listen to the thoughts of a pregnant woman in an ambulance and a young prostitute by the road. Damiel, played by Bruno Ganz, becomes enamored with a trapeze artist named Marion, portrayed by Solveig Dommartin. He chooses to become mortal to experience human sensations and love.
