Synopsis

In 1995, a filmmaker visited a Qingdao orphanage, where dozens of children had been abandoned. Over the next decade, he returned annually, forming friendships with the children and documenting their lives. Access to Chinese orphanages has been tightly controlled since the 1990s, making it difficult to understand their conditions. Accompanied by a local mother, the filmmaker captured the children's dreams and aspirations, providing a rare glimpse into their evolving stories over ten years.
