Synopsis

Přemysl Otakar II, the Bohemian King, and Odorik, a little-known pilgrim who first reached Tibet, anchor this documentary set in the medieval era. The film presents an unconventional perspective on these two figures from Czech history. Odorik, often referred to as the “Bohemian Marco Polo,” contrasts with the more familiar yet often misunderstood image of Přemysl. Through a conversational format, the author connects their lives to contemporary feelings, revealing their lasting significance nearly 700 years later.
