Synopsis
Twelve French teenagers, aged 10 to 15, set sail on a large ship, retracing Christopher Columbus's route from Spain to the Yucatan Peninsula. Under the guidance of two or three adults, they make stops at various Caribbean islands along the way. Directed by Bernard Poggi, "Western Lights" captures the challenges and experiences of these young sailors as they navigate the waters that once led to new worlds. The documentary runs for 117 minutes and was released in 1990.
