Weather Gazers

Synopsis

In the Muota valley of Switzerland, seven weather prophets observe nature to predict the weather. They rely on signs from animals, plants, winds, and clouds, a practice at risk of fading in the age of satellite imagery and digital forecasts. The film captures their seasonal surveys, set against the backdrop of local landscapes and the traditional music of the “Hujässler.” The unfiltered dialect of the region adds depth to this nearly forgotten tradition.
