Synopsis
Pina Bausch premiered Walzer at the Carré Theatre in Amsterdam during the summer of 1982. The performance was filmed in the autumn of the same year at the theatre in Wuppertal. In 1986, the German radio station Norddeutscher Rundfunk requested a recording. Bausch selected and edited the footage into the 56-minute film Walzer. The documentary presents a visual interpretation of her original work, blending dance and music in a theatrical setting.
