Until He's Back

Synopsis

Ahmed Tchiche stands in mourning after learning that his son, Yahya, has died at sea while attempting to reach Spain. He faces the challenge of bringing Yahya's remains back to Morocco for a proper farewell. A Spanish mortician, an NGO worker, and a Moroccan immigrant in Spain assist Ahmed with the complex repatriation process. Their efforts reveal the emotional and logistical hurdles involved in returning a loved one home. The documentary runs for 40 minutes and was released in 2023.
