Ukraine War: Where are Russia making gains?
Synopsis
Alice Professor Michael Clarke details Russian gains in Bakhmut and fortifications in the East.
Synopsis
Alice Professor Michael Clarke discusses the current situation in Bakhmut, where Russia is making gains. The Wagner group is actively attacking Bakhmut, having shifted their strategy to approach from the south after unsuccessful frontal assaults from the east and north. They have crossed the Bakhmutak River and are engaged in intense fighting near Kurdiomivka and Andriivka, although they remain about eight to nine kilometers from the outskirts of Bakhmut. Despite these advances, the fighting is costly for the Russians. Meanwhile, in the east, the Russians are fortifying their positions along the Dnipro River, particularly around Kherson, where they have established fixed fortifications and concentrated troop barracks. This strategic buildup indicates a significant effort by the Russians to strengthen their defenses in the region.
