Laura Bonaparte, an 86-year-old political activist, co-founded the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo in Argentina during the 1970s. This group formed in response to the forced disappearances of children under the Videla military dictatorship. Bonaparte lost three children and their partners, including the director's parents.
