Synopsis

Joao Silva revisits his native South Africa, reflecting on the violence that marked the country's transition to democracy in 1994. The War Photographers features interviews with award-winning photojournalists who document conflict in dangerous regions. Ashley Gilbertson travels to Midland, Texas, to photograph the bedrooms of young soldiers who did not return from war. Other photographers share their experiences covering conflicts in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan, and the Middle East. The film runs for 28 minutes.
