On September 24, 1976, Wichai Kasripongsa and Chumphon Thummai were found hanged at the entrance of a housing estate in Phra Pathom Subdistrict, Nakhon Pathom Province. Both men worked for the Nakhon Pathom Electricity Authority and had protested the return of Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn, who had been exiled after the October 14, 1973 uprising. Their deaths, displayed publicly, were never properly investigated, and their bodies were buried without autopsy, leaving the circumstances surrounding their deaths unresolved.
