The Sakharov Case

Synopsis

Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov lived through the rule of six Soviet leaders, including Beria, Khrushchev, and Gorbachev. He met with five of them, seeking to influence their policies. Born under Lenin, Sakharov became a prominent figure in Soviet society. He initially supported the state but later opposed it, a shift he referred to as his "turn." The documentary covers his life from his early years to his death in 1989, shortly before the Soviet Union's collapse.
