Synopsis
Adolf Hitler and other high-ranking officials took refuge in a vast network of underground tunnels and bunkers constructed by the Nazis between 1940 and 1945. Director Michael Kloft investigates these sites in Germany and occupied Poland, where slave laborers toiled under dire conditions. The film also covers missile silos on the northern coast of occupied France, built under Armaments Minister Albert Speer to launch V2 rockets. Interviews with surviving laborers and former SS officials reveal the motivations and human cost of these massive constructions.
