Synopsis
Peter Mostovoy, a Jewish filmmaker, recounts his experiences in Soviet politics using animation and archival footage.
Synopsis
Peter Mostovoy reflects on his life as a filmmaker during the Soviet Union's rise and fall. Growing up in poverty, he aspired to create art free from state control. However, his identity as a Jewish artist led him into the absurdities of Soviet politics, where he was labeled an “untrustworthy” Jew. The Red Scarf combines animation and archival footage, including clips from Mostovoy’s own films, to illustrate his experiences with humor and insight.
