Synopsis

On October 15, 2011, the Vancouver Art Gallery became a focal point for the Occupy movement as thousands gathered in support. As the day unfolded, hundreds erected tents, transforming the plaza into an encampment complete with a first-aid station, media tent, kitchen, and library. Over 39 days, BCIT journalism students Rafferty Baker and Matthew J. Van Deventer documented the daily lives of the occupants, capturing the rise and eventual dismantling of Occupy Vancouver.
