Synopsis
Darío Higuera Meza, a 70-year-old saddle maker, set out from Baja California on a 200-mile trek to La Paz. Over 20 days, he led a pack train of donkeys while dealing with health issues, rattlesnakes, and the heat of dusty trails. Meza and his family transported goat cheese, dates, sugarcane candy, and wine. Their aim was to honor the muleteers of Baja's donkey pack trains, known as los arrieros de las recuas.
