Synopsis

Roald Mandelstam lived in postwar Leningrad, confined to his home due to chronic illness. He received visits from notable figures, including composer Isaac Schwartz and members of the Arafiev circle, a group of independent artists. Their interactions unfolded against the backdrop of a repressive regime. After 50 years, a fresco was uncovered beneath the wallpaper in his communal apartment, revealing a hidden aspect of his life and the artistic community that surrounded him.
