Synopsis

In the second year of his medical career, a doctor recounts a particularly challenging fourth night shift. At around 6:00 AM, he encounters a 106-year-old woman in the emergency department, who presents with an incredibly itchy back. Despite her confusion, she confidently asserts her awareness of the year, stating it is 2010, and even names Queen Elizabeth II as the current monarch. The doctor, feeling a mix of concern and amusement, decides to help her by scratching her back through her green cardigan. However, the situation escalates when he realizes she is quite deaf, leading to her loud and alarming requests for help. This draws the attention of the Haney sisters, who question the doctor's actions, prompting him to reassure them that he is simply addressing the woman's itch.
