Synopsis
In a speculative future, life on Earth evolves without the presence of Homo sapiens. "The Future Is Wild," a thirteen-part miniseries from 2002, presents this scenario through research and interviews with scientists. Broadcast on the Discovery Channel, the series imagines probes sent back to observe the planet's ecological changes. Accompanied by a book from geologist Dougal Dixon, the miniseries inspired a theme park in Japan in 2005. Warner Bros. later acquired a film version of the series.
